Isaiah Neyor 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Background:

  • Wyoming Transfer
  • Averaged 31 yards per catch (2021)

System:

  • Scheme tendencies: Scheme-versatile receiver
  • 2022 projected role: Has the opportunity to emerge as the No. 1 WR

Pros: There are plenty of things to like about Isaiah Neyor’s game, but the one trait that jumps off the screen is his speed. At Wyoming, Neyor was used as the big-play threat and he was able to consistently get over the top of the defense. Neyor appears to have great speed that he uses to stride past defenders and get separation. What makes Neyor especially dangerous is that even when the ball is short, he can work his way back to the football and catch the ball in jump-ball situations. Neyor seems to be really confident playing above the rim and tracking deep balls. Neyor dominated the competition in his time at Wyoming and appears to have the athletic traits to do the same this upcoming year in the Big 12.

Cons: Isaiah Neyor is a high-hipped athlete that at times struggles to run dynamic routes. When he has to run routes such as corner posts or double moves, there are times he struggles to sink his hips so he can really change direction. Neyor really needs to improve these areas of his game because there are times that his routes are ineffective because he fails to get the defender to commit to a direction so he can make a cut off of that. Neyor can benefit from an offseason of becoming a more refined route-runner. If Neyor can do this, he has the opportunity to become a true No. 1 receiver.
