Antoine Green 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Background:

  • Four-star recruit
  • Three-sport athlete (football, basketball, and track & field)
  • Had a 23-2 long jump and a 45-11 1/4 triple jump

System:

  • Scheme tendencies: Air Raid (Phil Longo)
  • 2022 projected role: Starting outside receiver

Pros: Antoine Green was tasked with stepping into the vertical role vacated by Dyami Brown. Green’s size and play strength is an asset on running downs. He is a reliable front/play-side stalk blocker. He sells his vertical stems well enough to set defensive backs up for double moves later. He deploys a solid release package to defeat bump-and-run technique. When the ball is in flight, Green has the size, length, and body control to catch it away from his frame. He works the sidelines well on comeback and outbreaking routes. His 37.5-inch vertical shows his ability to elevate and play the ball at its highest point.

Cons: Due to Antonie Green being used vertically often, he lacks a well-rounded route tree. As a result, he is not a natural separator. Green needs to sink his hip when snapping at the breakpoint of his stem to generate more separation. His speed is good, not great, and he separates late in the vertical stem. He lacks the explosive burst off the line of scrimmage to stress athletic cornerbacks quick in his route stems. His play throughout his career has been inconsistent, in part due to battling injuries in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
