Khris Bogle 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Background:

  • Florida transfer
  • Played in 11 games last year (2021)

System:

  • Scheme tendencies: Multiple fronts
  • 2022 projected role: Starting edge rusher

Pros: Khris Bogle has natural athletic traits that make him a prototypical edge rusher. Off the edge, Bogle appears to have good athleticism and can win the edge against offensive linemen. Bogle also has good length that allows him to engage with offensive linemen first and be able to control the rep. Bogle’s arm length also helps him in the run game. As a run defender, Bogle does a good job shooting his hands and locking out defenders. As a contain defender, Bogle does a good job of setting the edge by sitting down on the outside shoulder of tackles and keeping his free arm open. Bogle transferred from Florida to Michigan and will see significantly more playing time with a less crowded edge group and should be able to showcase his skills more.

Cons: Khris Bogle still appears to be adjusting to the speed of the game. Although Bogle appears to gave great athletic traits, he seems to be slow off the ball at the snap. Bogle can also use development in his pass-rush technique. When rushing the passer, Bogle doesn’t attack the edges of the offensive lineman and actually makes it easy for them to block him. Bogle has all of the athletic traits to be one of the better edge rushers in this class but still needs a few tweaks to his game.
