  • 2022 New Mexico Bowl MVP
  • Utilizing sixth year of eligibility due to COVID

System:

  • Scheme tendencies: Spread
  • 2022 projected role: Starting RB

Pros: Jordan Mims is an exciting running back prospect who looks to shine during his year as the unquestioned RB1. After splitting time with Ronnie Rivers, Mims is primed for a monster season as he has a blend of speed and elusiveness that will dominate the Mountain West. Mims has excellent speed, quickness, and change of direction. He is able to hit the hole with speed and burst through into the second level where he has the speed to defeat angles. He has above-average vision and can read cut-back lanes and paths in the open field. He is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and has proven to be a mismatch on screens and wheel routes. He is an above-average kick returner with north-south speed.

Cons: Jordan Mims is an undersized back who lacks power to his game. He struggles to break tackles and doesn’t generate many yards after contact. He struggles with patience as a runner and will often press a hole before the hole is formed. He is more of a north-south runner than someone who can create laterally and struggles when he is forced off his track. He is an exciting playmaker but needs to prove three-down value in his last college season.
