Kadeem Telfort 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Background:

  • Transferred from Florida in 2018 after legal troubles
  • Honorable Mention All-Conference (2021)

System:

  • Scheme tendencies: Spread with power principles
  • 2022 projected role: Developmental LT

Pros: Kadeem Telfort is a physically gifted offensive tackle whose best play may very well be ahead of him. A big recruit out of high school, he landed in some legal trouble which forced him to transfer down to UAB. However, his talent is that much more like a top SEC tackle. Telfort has outstanding size, length, and good lateral mobility. In the pass game, he uses his length very well to initiate contact but keep his chest clear. He has good feet to slide and mirror in pass protection and shows a firm anchor to handle the bull rush. He takes good angles in the run game and generates good power at the point of attack.

Cons: Kadeem Telfort has flashes of brilliance (see Georgia game) but then will go on long stretches where his technique and fluidity go out the window. He appears lazy in his kick step, allowing speed rushers to get the edge. He, at times, oversets, clearing a path for inside counters. Pad level will always be a concern given his freakish height. He struggles to land at the second level against moving targets.
