Pros: Dorian Thompson-Robinson is an experienced quarterback who has had plenty of success with the Bruins over his career. He is a twitchy athlete who has a compact and quick release. He surveys the field well and throws from a good base from his lower half up to his upper. Thompson-Robinson has excellent arm strength and velocity and shows the ability to drive the football into tight windows in all areas of the field. He is able to throw accurately with good timing when given time and takes good care of the football with good decision-making. He is an outstanding athlete for the position and utilizes his athleticism both to extend plays as a passer or pick up yards as a runner. An excellent leader and competitor, Thompson-Robinson is the type of person a coach should want in their locker room.

Cons: For as experienced as a player Dorian Thompson-Robinson is, there is still a ton of rawness to his game—which leads me to believe that this is the player he is. He struggles mightily when the pocket is compromised and he is forced to rush his process. His accuracy, which is only above average to begin with, quickly wanes as pressure flashes in his face. He struggles with poise in the pocket and is erratic with his feet when the pocket is collapsing. Thompson-Robinson will oftentimes scramble and leave the pocket early rather than standing tall and stepping up to deliver an accurate pass down the field. Thompson-Robinson struggles to throw the ball outside the hashes and is often a tick late even though he does have the requisite velocity to get the job done. He takes a ton of sacks as he lacks the natural feel of when pressure is coming. His inconsistency to throw with touch and timing is frustrating as he does have flashes of doing so at a high level. He is fairly undersized and his play style may lead to injuries at the next level.
