Erick All 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Background:

  • All-Big-Ten selection (honorable mention, coaches and media; 2021)
  • Two-year letterman (2019-20)

System:

  • Scheme tendencies: Open passing concept from multiple alignments
  • 2022 projected role: Starting “Y” TE

Pros: Erick All presents a versatile tight end skill set. He aligns in multiple spots for the Wolverines’ offense. He thrives working in the middle of the field from either in-line or as the detached Y tight end in the slot. He has good knowledge of defensive leverage. He is a more than willing blocker and puts up good effort to secure his assignment. As a lead or slice blocker, his approach consists of toughness and physicality. He showcases soft and reliable hands with good ball skills. All runs solid routes with angling and using his frame during his stems. He will help an offense that pushes their tight ends up the seams off play-action. He uses a sound frame and size to present a nice target in the soft spots of zone coverages.

Cons: Erick All does not provide many YAC opportunities, outside of manufactured ones due to the play call. There are instances where he is high-hipped, which limited his ability to sink and drive out of his breaks. Consistency as a blocker is lacking due to technical flaws. He does not latch and sustain blocks enough and prefers to drive and lead with his shoulder to provide a momentary stun to his opponent. He is not the most explosive or fastest tight end. Once he reaches top speed, he maxes out quickly.
