The Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals set the scene for an exciting Week 8 with their mouth-watering primetime matchup on Thursday night. The remaining slate of games should deliver worthy follow-ups. The AFC North battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns should be plenty physical, with the winner placing themselves in a prime position. Elsewhere, Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers will lock horns with their division rival New Orleans Saints in a key matchup.

With our eyes firmly set on the appetizing contests to come, we've assembled three bold predictions for this weekend.

LIONS GET A MUCH-NEEDED VICTORY

The Lions represent the lone winless team at this juncture. When analyzing the remainder of Detroit's schedule, this Sunday's home contest against a Philadelphia Eagles team trending in the wrong direction should hypothetically represent a fantastic opportunity for the Lions to finally get in the win column.

Dan Campbell has continued to prepare his Lions with great detail, proven by their valiant and creative effort in last weekend's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Campbell will remain steadfast in his pursuit to drag the Lions out of their winless misery, and we envision his efforts being successful against a bad Eagles team in front of a rambunctious Motor City crowd. While embarking on an active two-game losing streak, the Eagles are managing to score just 22 points per game while conceding north of 30 points per contest to their opponents. The Eagles are prime candidates to hit rock bottom.

TREVOR LAWRENCE HAS CAREER DAY AGAINST HORRID SEAHAWKS SECONDARY

Rookie No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence may have played his most impressive game as a professional in Jacksonville's Week 6 win over the Miami Dolphins in London, England. The former Clemson signal-caller completed 25-of-41 passing attempts for a healthy 319 yards and a touchdown pass. Lawrence and the Jaguars were on the bye a week ago, and recharged their batteries following a long trip home from across the pond.

We love Lawrence's chances of building upon that performance throughout Sunday's date with the Seattle Seahawks. Lawrence will encounter a Seahawks secondary that's allowing north of 280 passing yards per contest while looking downright lost on a near series-by-series basis. This contest has the makings of a high-scoring affair, and Lawrence should top 350 total yards of offense while accounting for multiple touchdowns.

PANTHERS LOSE FIFTH STRAIGHT

The Panthers began the new campaign in shockingly impressive fashion by winning their opening three contests. It's all come horribly crashing down since then, and the Panthers are now on an active four-game losing streak. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold has been extremely underwhelming in Carolina's four losses, and was even benched in the midst of their embarrassing 22-point Week 7 loss to the lowly New York Giants.

Unfortunately for the Panthers faithful, we are predicting even more heartbreak in Week 8. Matt Rhule and his Panthers will travel on the road to encounter an Atlanta Falcons team that has quietly been playing quality football in recent weeks. Winners of two consecutive contests, head coach Arthur Smith has appeared to figure things out offensively. Atlanta has scored at least 27 points in three straight games and has the horses to outlast Carolina at home.
