Oh, you thought the mock drafts were over?
Think again!
I used to hate these "way-too-early” mock drafts, but now that I'm the one writing them, they've become one of my favorites. The accuracy of these mocks is not the main takeaway. Way-too-early mock drafts should simply allow you to become familiar with some of the top names in the upcoming draft class as you begin your summer scouting, or just give you some prospects to keep and eye on next college football season.
When it comes to the 2021 class, it looks like wide receivers and defensive backs are the strongest positional groups going into the summer, the tight end class is poised to bounce back in a big way after a down year in 2020, and two or three quarterbacks at the top have franchise-changing potential.
Below are some of the players on my radar as potential names we could hear in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. And if you think my first round is missing a key name or two, you can head over to our Mock Draft Machine, where you can now create your own 2021 mock draft just like you could with 2020.
Author’s note: The order of this draft is set according to Las Vegas' most recent Super Bowl odds for the 2020 NFL season.
