Part of the joy that comes out of scouring the country's best and brightest young football talents as an NFL draft analyst is when you stumble on a gem that you weren't expecting. Scouting 300-plus players every year can be cumbersome and often times leads to fatigue in the later portions of the draft cycle. But every so often a player captures your eye and demands your attention — flashing promise that you weren't expecting.

That's what I see in all of the players below.

Just because you don't rate a player in the first few rounds doesn't necessarily mean you can't love them for what they do well, as evidenced by this crop of Day 3 prospects who are among my favorites in the 2020 NFL Draft class. No, they aren't necessarily going to hear their names called early in the draft (although never say never), but each of the five brings a clear skill to the table that will afford them a chance to make an impact for their new NFL team in the next few seasons.
