Bears vs Rams Monday Night Football Betting Preview

Week 7’s edition of Monday Night Football is an NFC battle between the 5-1 Chicago Bears and the 4-2 Los Angeles Rams. The Bears come into the game as nearly a full-touchdown underdog despite having only one blemish on their record—many believe their record is fraudulent. The Rams, on the other hand, return home looking to bounce back from a divisional drubbing at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

After an exciting Sunday slate, bettors still itching to wager on the NFL can get their fix again tonight. So what should we expect on the Monday Night Football doubleheader? What is the best bet? Let’s take a look. All odds are courtesy of our friends over at BetOnline

Spread: CHI: +6 (-115) | LAR: -6 (-105)

Moneyline: CHI: (+215) | LAR: (-255)

Total: 44.5 – Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

This game should be a defensive showcase, featuring two of the seven-best defenses in the NFL in terms of yards and points allowed heading into the week. The big question will be which of these offenses can find enough of a groove to breakthrough.

The Rams have been a bit sleepy at home offensively, averaging just 18.5 points per game in their two home contests against very beatable defenses—they let the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants hand around far too long. On the other hand, the Rams are averaging 28.75 points per game in all other contests, and have the healthy horses to put up numbers when Jared Goff and Co. are clicking.

On the other side, the Bears’ offense has left a lot to be desired this season. They rank in the bottom six in both yards and points and are still yet to find a consistent groove on the ground or through the air. They’re a scrappy team with a dynamic defense, but they’re going to need to find offensive success in order to be competitive in this matchup.

Although I believe the Rams van sneaky out a win in the end, this line caught my eye amongst the rest of Week 7’s offering. Giving the Bears six points is just a little too much for my taste. They have a legit shot to force a bad Jared Goff game and sneak away with a victory. A potentially low-scoring game plays in the Bears’ favor to cover.
