Deadlines have an odd way of jumpstarting activity. With the NFL trade deadline just a little over a fortnight away, the Super Bowl contenders will look to strengthen their depth as they continue their quest for ultimate glory. Both parties can benefit from reaching an agreement, as immediate and future draft capital is often of the utmost importance for a struggling franchise.

The Carolina Panthers made a pair of splashes by acquiring C.J. Henderson and Stephon Gilmore. On Wednesday, the Arizona Cardinals made their move by trading for pass-catching tight end Zach Ertz.

Deals may reveal themselves in abundance in the coming weeks. Here are a few potential trade opportunities we are currently monitoring.

ALLEN ROBINSON TO THE BALTIMORE RAVENS

The 3-2 Chicago Bears still have plenty to play for in an ultra-competitive NFC North division, but could be intrigued by securing a significant package in return for their superstar receiver. General manager Ryan Pace has been hesitant to make the long-term commitment to Robinson that the former All-American is still currently seeking. Their failure to reach an agreement on a contract extension led the Bears to place the franchise tag on Robinson.

Robinson, who has publicly spoken against the franchise tag in the past, is set to hit free agency in 2022. The Pro Bowl receiver may be reluctant to return to a franchise that had its chance to lock him up and hasn’t.

Enter the Ravens and their improved passing game. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson is finding great success moving the football through the air in 2021, something he has struggled with in the past. The Ravens have impressively reigned victorious in four of five contests thus far and should view themselves as legitimate contenders to achieve something special in the postseason. Adding a player of Robinson’s caliber to the fold would certainly improve their chances. General manager Eric DeCosta would be wise to explore such a deal.

EVAN ENGRAM TO THE LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Justin Herbert and his high-flying Chargers have provided us with some of the greatest forms of entertainment throughout the early portion of the new season. The Chargers don't lack weapons in the passing game, but this is a scenario where we envision the rich getting richer.

Mike Williams is experiencing a breakout campaign, and the likes of Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen are as dangerous as ever. If the Chargers are going to make the playoff run they currently look qualified to engineer, further stacking the deck in their favor would not be a bad strategy to employ.

Tight end Jared Cook has made plenty of plays in the passing game thus far but lacks the overall dynamic skill set that Engram possesses. Engram returned to the New York Giants' offense in Week 3 and has the look of a player that's steadily improving and recapturing his form. Engram recorded a season-high 55 receiving yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.

The Giants own a disappointing record of 1-4 and may start looking to add future draft capital during what appears to be another lost season in East Rutherford. Engram is currently in the final year of his rookie contract and would slot in nicely as the go-to receiving tight end in Los Angeles.
