The Miami Dolphins are a team that is looking to make one of the most challenging leaps in all of football—transitioning from a young, rebuilding roster to an annual young contender.
This coming season is shaping up to be a very important one for the Miami Dolphins. Given the major acquisitions they made in the offseason in addition to the arrival of new head coach (and offensive guru) Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins hope to end their five-year playoff drought.
The current iteration of the fifth-year option is a less appealing strategic tool for NFL franchises to implement than ever before, particularly at the quarterback position.
The problem that Tua Tagovailoa now faces is that the Dolphins' supporting cast offense around him is so strong that his leash can’t be as long if he faces struggles early in the season.
A new trend has been sweeping across the NFL. I’m not talking about the heightened tendency for coaches to go for it on fourth down or attempt two-point conversions.
