Purdue Boilermakers wide receiver Rondale Moore is opting out of the 2020 college football season. He joins Miami Hurricanes EDGE Greg Rousseau and Penn State Linebacker Micah Parsons as the third big-name college star to opt out of the season on August 6th. Virginia Tech CB Caleb Farley opted out on July 29 and Minnesota WR Rashod Bateman opted out on August 4.

Moore only played four games last season after a sensational freshman year in 2018 in which he caught 114 passes for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns (he also had 213 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground). In 2019, Moore had 29 catches for 387 yards and two touchdowns. He recently came in at No. 17 on the TDN Top 100 big board.

Here are some excerpts from his scouting report. You can read the full report here.

PROS: RAC King! Moore runs like a running back with the ball in his hands—he's a human joystick built so low to the ground that he'll effortlessly absorb body blows and continue his progress up the field. Impatient tacklers will get left grasping air and he's got zero to sixty acceleration that comes in the blink of an eye.

CONS: Size will be a hangup for some, he's not a "traditional build" for the wide receiver position and durability questions will linger until Moore is able to disprove them with a full season of play on the field. Moore missed the final 8 games of the 2019 season with a hamstring issues — like an exotic car, Moore's play style and speed doesn't lend well to a lame wheel; lower body nicks and bumps could offset his impact more so than some other players.
